Dick Barbour Racing Lineup Changes For Sears Point ALMS

Braselton, Ga. (July 12, 2001) -- For the July 22 X-Factor Grand Prix of Sonoma at California's Sears Point Raceway, Dick Barbour Racing has entered only one of its two Reynard 01Q prototype racing sportscars along with the team's #15 Porsche 911 GT-3R.

At Le Mans this June and at the preceding European Le Mans Series race in Jarama, Spain, the team entered a pair of Reynards in the LMP675 category, scoring a class victory and third place overall in Spain.

Barbour had hoped to field both prototype racecars at Sears Point, along with the Porsche. However, due to the heavy fire damage sustained by one of the team's prototypes at Le Mans, it could not be repaired in time. In order to preserve his opportunity for championship points, Didier de Radiguès will now share the seat of the #57 Reynard with DBR teammates John Graham and Milka Duno. The #15 Dick Barbour Racing 911 GT3-R will be piloted at Sears Point by Mexico's Randy Wars and Birmingham, Alabama's Grady Willingham.

In commenting on the turn of events Dick Barbour stated, "Despite the heavy damage suffered at Le Mans, we had hoped we could field both Reynards at Sears Point. Unfortunately, the rear structure of our #5 car was very badly burned. So, despite massive efforts by our guys and great support from Reynard over the last few weeks, we've come up short of time to get the car ready to race at Sears. We expect to be at Portland with both prototypes."
