Randy Wars
Born: September 15, 1948
Birthplace: Mexico City, Mexico
Residence: Mexico City, Mexico

Randy's first taste of racing came watching his father compete in the legendary Carrera Pan Americana road races of the 1950's. Although his dad never wanted him to become a race driver, the young man was hooked on the sport and began in Mexican touring car endurance racing in the mid 1980's. Over the next few seasons he scored a number of podium finishes in events like the 12 Hours of Mexico City and the 1000 Kilometers of Monterrey. Randy became a stalwart of production-based endurance racing south of the border. In the early 90's he had a chance to participate in the Ferrari Challenge Series and score a 3rd at Texas Motor Speedway in December 1994. Although Randy originally met Dick Barbour in 1974, a reacquaintence in 1999 led to his first ride in a Dick Barbour Racing Porsche in the 2000 ALMS. At Portland last year, Randy scored an eighth place finish and capped the season with a second at Adelaide, Australia.
