DICK BARBOUR RACING GOIN' WEST

Road Atlanta, GA October 9, 2000 - Dick Barbour Racing is goin' west to California for the tenth round of the American Le Mans Series Championship. The Monterey Sports Car Championships, featuring the ALMS, will be at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, CA on Sunday, October 15th.

Team drivers Dirk Muller and Lucas Luhr are heading to California from their homes in Monaco while Bob Wollek will be arriving from France and Sascha Maassen from Germany.

Dick Barbour Racing will field two of their Porsche 911 GT3 R's, the number 5 and the number 51. Both of these cars have been very competitive, with the number 5 earning three of the Team's seven wins and the number 51 delivering the other four. Muller and Luhr will once again handle the number 5, while teammates Wollek and Maassen will take turns in the number 51.

The Team has won seven of the nine ALMS events so far and hope to make the Laguna Seca race their eighth win. Dick Barbour Racing won the Laguna Seca event 20 years ago, in a Porsche 935, which then led to the IMSA Championship in 1980 for Dick Barbour.

Dick Barbour Racing is currently first in Team Points for the series and Maassen, Wollek, Muller and Luhr are first, second, third and fourth - respectively - in Driver's Points for the series. With the Team's win at Petit Le Mans they are very proud to have contributed to Porsche locking up the 2000 American Le Mans GT Automobile Manufacturers Championship.

The race will be televised live on Speedvision on Sunday the 15th beginning at 3:00PM EST. Live flag-to-flag coverage is available on the American Le Mans Series Radio Web at
