DICK BARBOUR RACING TO START 1ST AND 2ND AT LAGUNA SECA

Road Atlanta, GA October 14, 2000 - The Dick Barbour Racing Team's two entries will start first and second at The Monterey Sports Car Championships at Laguna Seca Raceway this Sunday, October 15th.

The Dick Barbour Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, the number 51, driven in both qualifying sessions by Sascha Maassen, has scored the pole position for the tenth round of the American Le Mans Series. The pole qualifying time set by Maassen was 1.27:41 and was set in Friday's first-round qualifying. This is the second pole of the season for Maassen and his qualifying time has shattered the previous track record at the famed Monterey circuit. Veteran teammate Bob Wollek will join Maassen in the number 51 on Sunday.

Dirk Muller and Lucas Luhr's number 5 Porsche 911 GT3 R will start the race in the second position with a qualifying time of 1.27:51 - that was also set in Friday's first-round qualifying. Muller qualified the car on Friday and Luhr on Saturday.

The Monterey Sports Car Championships at Laguna Seca will be televised live on Sunday beginning at 3:00PM EST on Speedvision. Live flag-to-flag coverage is available on The American Le Mans Series Radio Web at www.americanlemans.com.
