"THE BARBOUR OF SEBRING" WINS AGAIN!

DICK BARBOUR RACING WINS GT CLASS AT 48th 12 HOURS OF SEBRING

Sebring, Fla., March 18, 2000 - Sportscar legend Dick Barbour has achieved his fourth win at Sebring by scoring this year's GT class victory.

The Dick Barbour Racing car number 5, driven by Dirk Muller and Lucas Luhr, crossed the finish line in first place - 6 laps ahead of their nearest opponent in their Porsche 911 GT3R. The number 5 car began the race in first after grabbing the pole with a track-breaking qualifying run by Muller.

Dick Barbour Racing's second entry, car number 51, piloted by Bob Wollek and Sascha Maassen, went out at 8:01PM due to a suspension failure - the cause of which has yet to be determined.

This win is especially sweet for Barbour - as it represents an incredible return to his first and only passion - sportscar racing. "I fully realized that racing has become much more technically challenging than it was when I left racing 20 years ago. I'm fortunate to have on-board as my partners - Porsche, Michelin and Mobil 1 and it was important to me that my team would be as strong with my return as it was when I left. With these partners - companies with the highest standards of excellence - I've achieved my goal. These partners, and my entire team, performed flawlessly and demonstrated their high standards by delivering this win. I can't imagine a nicer gift - for which I am extremely grateful," said Barbour.

This outstanding performance by a relatively new team bodes extremely well for its hopes of winning the ALMS Championship. "I'm really happy with the results of the number 5 car and with the general performance of our team in this first race of the series," said Tony Dowe, Race Director. "On the other hand, I'm not happy that the number 51 car had some problems, so there is still much to do for both cars for our next effort at Charlotte."

Affectionately referred to as "The Barbour of Sebring" by Florida media, Barbour has previously enjoyed three trips in a row to the Overall winner's circle at Sebring. The three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner has now set his sights on the 2000 Sebring and ALMS Championships.
