DICK BARBOUR RACING CAPTURES 3RD STRAIGHT ALMS WIN

Silverstone, England May 13, 2000 - Bob Wollek and Sascha Maassen handed Dick Barbour Racing its first European Le Mans Series and third straight ALMS victory by winning today's Silverstone 500.

The Dick Barbour Racing Porsche 911 GT3R, number 51, piloted by Wollek and Maassen, crossed the finish line more than a second ahead of their nearest competitor. This is the second straight win as well for the Wollek/Maassen duo - having also won the Grand Prix of Charlotte.

Dick Barbour Racing's additional entry, the number 5 Porsche 911 GT3R, driven by Dirk Muller and Lucas Luhr, delivered both the fourth place finish and the fastest lap of the race.

Bob Wollek
"When you drive for such a great team - you are afraid to make a mistake because they deserve to win. They work so hard to make the car as perfect as possible!"

Sascha Maassen
"I felt very comfortable with the car so I am very happy that we won, because to have such a good car does not directly mean that you will win, especially not in a long distance race. Thanks a lot to the team and to my team mate Bob."

Dirk Muller
"We had the best car in the field, we even had the fastest lap. I am really sorry for the mechanics. It was very unfortunate that we had very unlucky problems."

Lucas Luhr
"The car was actually very, very good - we just had some back luck in the beginning. We did our best and almost got back to the top - but for us, time ran out."
