DICK BARBOUR RACING ANNOUNCES
2000 PROFESSIONAL DRIVER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Road Atlanta, GA Aug 30, 2000 Dick Barbour Racing has created it's Professional Driver Development Program for the balance of the 2000 American Le Mans Series and beyond. Beginning with the Grand Prix of Texas at Texas Motor Speedway on September 2, 2000 and continuing through to the Race of a Thousand Years in Australia, Dick Barbour Racing will enter a third new Porsche 911 GT3 R, the number 15, to be piloted by Randy Wars, Jennifer Tumminelli. Veteran Terry Borcheler will join Tumminelli and Wars for the Grand Prix of Texas.

Dick Barbour Racing has a history of successfully introducing drivers to professional world-class competition. Past successes include Paul Newman, for which Dick Barbour Racing delivered his first professional win - the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Janet Guthrie – who was the first woman to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 and Anne Charlotte Vernay - who then went on to score very impressive finishes at Le Mans.

The candidates selected for the 2000 program are Jennifer Tumminelli and Randy Wars. Tumminelli has displayed tremendous skill in the Women's Global GT Series, the Mazda Pro Series and the beginning of this year's American Le Mans Series - as its only woman driver. Wars, from Mexico City, has five wins and many podium finishes in Mexican Long-Distance Touring Car Championships.

"In my racing career I've been very fortunate to field championship caliber efforts. I've always felt that it is important to offer a Driver Development Program with a championship team to selected and very skilled candidates - which both Wars and Tumminelli certainly qualify at the top of the list," says Barbour.
