DICK BARBOUR RACING WINS ROSE CITY GRAND PRIX
Portland, OR September 10, 2000 - Dick Barbour Racing has won the eighth round of the American Le Mans Series - the Rose City Grand Prix - at Portland International Raceway. The win comes almost 20 years to the day since Dick Barbour's last victory here. The win also gives the Team it's sixth victory from a total of eight events held so far this year.
The Team's number 51 Porsche 911 GT3 R crossed the finish line first after completing 121 laps in 2:45:17 and 15 seconds ahead of its nearest competitor. This is the third victory of the season for the Bob Wollek / Sascha Maassen effort.
The Team's new number 15, piloted by Randy Wars, Terry Borcheller and Jennifer Tumminelli finished eighth in class with 115 laps and a time of 2:45:11.
The Dirk Muller / Lucas Luhr Porsche 911 GT3 R, the number 5, was initially knocked out of the race but was quickly returned to action and was able to take the checkered flag.
The victory at Portland adds to the Team's solid lead in Team Points for the 2000 American Le Mans Series Championship.
